
Nestled within the rollingBjelasica mountain range, Biogradska Gora is known for its virgin rainforest atheart---one of Europe's last three remaining primeval forests, where trees canreach 60m high and over 400 years of age. Despite its small size, this nationalpark is rich in biodiversity. Apart from the National Park, there are lots ofnatural and cultural attractions in the area, dotted around the town ofKolasin.
· Lake Biograd:it is the biggest and prettiest glacial lake in the park, shrouded in foliage,its emerald still water mirroring the lush rugged surrounds. Take an easy walkof 3.5 km around the lake to admire it fully. Or hire a wooden boat to rowleisurely around the lake.
· Hiking: itis fantastic to hike in this park and Bjelasica range, where you can enjoy thesoothing scenery of gently rolling hills and visit the traditional Katuns—woodenshepherd’s huts. There are several hiking trails of varying difficulties. Therolling hills are also perfect for horse trekking.
· MRTVICA Canyon:it is a lush, green canyon with fairy scenery. Trek along the river, and experiencewalking through the surreal rock tunnel.
